Position Summary

As Program Manager (Partnerships), you will be instrumental in driving the early success of our partnerships with changemaking organizations, such as our partnership with the CROP Organization.
You will work closely with key stakeholders at the Foundation and at partner organizations to make sure the right decisions are made, the right resources are deployed and the right actions are taken, from program concept to design, development, launch, and beyond.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work closely with the Program Director at Mentora Foundation and other Mentora executives, faculty, and coaches to ensure the success of the Foundation’s partnerships through the successful delivery of our changemaking programs. Our first partnership is in place, and this will be your core focus for the first six months; other partnerships will be added over time.

Your areas of responsibility in the first year will include:

  • Align on goals, success metrics, scope, stakeholders, and key risks for the partnership
  • Lead the execution of partnership pilots to test and validate key elements of program design, communication, delivery, and support
  • Develop and implement a project implementation plan and a communications plan
  • Create and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with key personnel in the partner organization
  • Ensure access and availability of key Mentora personnel (faculty, researchers, coaches and beyond) for delivering to partnership commitments
  • Assess program performance, draw learnings and make improvements as needed to maximize program impact
  • Manage program budget

Core Knowledge and Skills

  • Program management/implementation - Able to provide thought partnership on project definition, planning/scoping the work, organizing, and designing appropriate solutions. Experience in implementing project plans that have a high level of complexity and ambiguity.
  • Analytical problem-solving - Bringing a logical, fact-based approach to problem-solving. Able to work systematically with both qualitative and quantitative information to analyze trade-offs do cost-benefit analyses, and draw robust inferences.
  • Results-orientation and accountability - Ability to hold themselves and others accountable to key commitments, milestones, and deadlines through goal-setting, review, expectation-setting, and constructive dialogs.
  • Relationships - Effective at working with a team of diverse backgrounds and roles in a global work environment. Ability to draw on others’ expertise and ideas. Strong relationship management and collaboration skills in working with external partners. Ability to forge trust with new people.
  • Agility, curiosity, multi-tasking - Bringing an innovative and open-minded approach to all aspects of work; functioning in a changing environment; Ability to juggle various project workstreams smoothly.
  • Written and oral communication - Able to communicate analyses and recommendations in well-organized and clear language; strong presentation skills.

Education and Experience

  • 5-7 yrs of experience in the business, non-profit or public sector with demonstrated excellence in project management, managing a small team, multi-stakeholder partnerships, and thriving in a fast-evolving startup environment.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master’s degree from a reputable institution.
  • Experience in social impact or education is a plus.
