The Change I Want to Bring to the World

I believe today's world is more divided than ever, especially with so much misinformation spreading online. People are getting unhealthier from both actual food and “mind food,” leading unhealthy lives for the mind and the body, and wondering why they struggle so hard to turn their lives around.

I see people around me struggling to structure their lives around busy schedules, causing tiredness, poor health, and anxiety. Therefore, I would like to promote health for both the body and the mind through healthy food and mental wellness exercises such as meditation.

How I’ve Been Involved in Changemaking So Far

Sharing vegan recipes on my YouTube channel.

I have served as Welfare Officer and the designer of the Nutrition Society at my university and act as a student representative in my architecture course. I also run a YouTube channel discussing the architecture experience at my university and showcasing the delicious plant-based meals I have sampled in my area. Finally, I host a podcast with a friend discussing various life topics and sharing our experiences in the architecture course.

I believe the small ripples you create in the people around you count as changemaking, too. Whenever I make a vegan recipe, I happily share it with friends and family to introduce them to delicious, healthy, cruelty-free meals, making a difference one meal at a time.

What Drew Me to This Fellowship

The Mentora Youth Changemaker Fellowship resonated with me to the core, especially the emphasis on lifelong learning. I believe in self-improvement: staying true to oneself but letting life take its course and always remaining open-minded. I think it is these qualities that allow us to make a change and to impact other people, and I am happy the fellowship emphasizes change within the self before inspiring change in others. I fully believe you need to know yourself and embrace inner change before you can impact the lives of those around you.
